Litter is a big problem in Timmins and people are starting to do something about it. Residents are fed up, some want to make a difference.
2007 TimminsGetClean.com decided to take a stand on this issue in keeping our city clean therefore creating this site.
Response to the litter campaign has been tremendous, people really do care about a clean Timmins.
Lets’ face it Timmins is filled with litter.
City Hall is doing what they can by enforcing new bylaws
but it’s not nearly enough. We should ALL keep Timmins a cleaner place to live.
We owe it to ourselves. We owe it to our children.
A favorite walking trail is the Terry Fox Pathway, the amount of litter found on that trail is shocking.
If you walk this pathway please bring a couple empty grocery bags and pick up some litter along the way.
Timmins has a huge absence of garbage containers around the city.
Garbage containers should be placed at corner stores, parks, walkways, pathways, retail outlets and fast food restaurants.
At one local corner store there is no garbage can in site and litter is scattered for blocks.
There are to many littered areas in Timmins and we all need to take action to have them cleaned up.
